Where Food Meets Woo

You have all heard the term food as medicine, right? You have probably also heard “eat a rainbow”.  Let’s delve into those two phrases a little more.

Food is medicine if it meets the definition of real food, which is any nutritious substance consumed. Much of what we consume is not real food. Think about that for a minute. Processed food like pizza rolls (yuk!) corn chips, etc., is not real food.

Eating a rainbow is a great way to assist you to determine what real food is. Garden fresh vegetables, herbs, fruits - (YUM!!) are all wonderful and full of life.  Each vegetable and fruit has specific vitamins and minerals. Each COLOR also has specific healing ingredients and properties! How cool is that?

Have you ever had the experience of meeting someone for the first time, or even just saw them walk into the room and you felt a shift in energy?  We each carry our own vibration (energy) and so does everything else!  This is the tip of the iceberg of where food meets woo.  Each ingredient you consume, along with it’s color, carries its own vibration and specific attributes.

There is so much I’d love to share with you! But for the purpose of this article, let’s explore the color orange.

Orange is a warming color, it stimulates creativity and represents fun and sociability. It is associated with the sacral chakra. (Chakras are energy centers we each have. More on chakras in another article!) The sacral chakra deals with reproduction, creativity, sensuality, and connections.  Foods you can eat to balance your sacral chakra are anything orange. Carrots, mango, oranges, apricots, sweet potatoes, and salmon.

Keeping your sacral chakra balanced helps with keeping you energized, it relates to connecting with others, and joy.

This mango smoothie recipe is one of my favorites.  It’s so easy and delicious.  It can be made in 5 minutes! All that is sure to bring you joy!
