This stuffed apricot recipe offers nourishment as well as transformative thoughts that can improve your life.
Whenever I cook, I always ask “what can I learn or what is the message from this recipe?” Here’s what came to me while making this one. My heart has been heavy with all the dissension in the world and this country over people’s differences being seen as bad. When I mixed the sour cream and the turbinado sugar - two opposites, I was so pleased by the end result - sweet and sour, smooth and crunchy. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could each look at something or someone different from ourselves and see how our differences could mutually enhance each other, like the sour cream and sugar? Stephen Covey has a great quote about this: Valuing differences is what really drives synergy. Do you truly value the mental, emotional, and psychological differences among people? Or do you wish everyone would just agree with you so you could all get along? Many people mistake uniformity for unity; sameness for oneness. One word--boring! Differences should be seen as strengths, not weaknesses. They add zest to life. So as you make this recipe, pay attention to how the differences of the flavors and the colors of each ingredient adds zest to your food and carry that concept into your daily living.
