This is a very simple recipe that would be fun to do with children. It’s simple for little hands and it teaches a good lesson. Part of this recipe entails letting the tofu drain of excess water. This is the longest part of the recipe and it teaches patience. You can ask yourself and or the children you are working with “what do you think the water coming out of the tofu can represent?” It will be so fun to hear their answers. Children are wiser than we give them credit for… out of the mouth of babes.
When I asked myself what the liquid could represent, I thought of things that would be beneficial to release like anger, frustration, or a pessimistic attitude. Sometimes, letting tears go is so healing, it helps wash away anger and hurt. I usually use soft tofu because I like its creamy texture, but any type of tofu will work. After the water is drained, the tofu becomes a bit more firm, which I see as a benefit. When we release what does not serve us, we become a bit firmer too!
